Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Buyer Direct located in Tijuana, BC.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager Direct, the Buyer Direct role involves reviewing requisitions and MRP output, determining the method of procurement such as direct purchase, and approving invoices for payment.

Typical Day (Responsibilities)

• Reviews requisitions and MRP output
• Approves invoices for payment
• Expedites delivery of goods to users
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
• Conducts quarterly supplier reviews
• Manages supplier expectations for price, delivery, and quality, and escalates when appropriate
• May gather quotations, examine bids, negotiate contracts, and award contracts
• May plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle
• Analyzes inventory levels
• Prepares liability reports for excess and obsolete management
• Make tactical buying decisions
• Executes corporate sourcing programs and purchases high-dollar parts
• Analyzes shortages and provides impact status reports
