We are looking for a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead a 4 star hotelon the island of Murano. He/she will be responsible for the overall performance of the property, ensuring operational excellence, financial results, and team development while reinforcing the positioning of the hotel as a vibrant lifestyle destination in the Venetian market.

This is an exciting opportunity for a leader with strong operational and commercial acumen, who can inspire teams, foster a culture of authentic hospitality, and drive guest satisfaction while maintaining a strong link with the local community of Murano.

Key Responsabilities

OPERATIONS & BUSINESS LEADERSHIP

  • Oversee all hotel operations, ensuring seamless service and consistency with the brand standards.
  • Manage property financials, including budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis, and long-term planning, with a focus on both profitability and asset value preservation.
  • Develop and execute business strategies tailored to the competitive landscape of Venice and Murano, driving revenue growth and market share.
  • Ensure the hotel is well-maintained and that investments in facilities reflect both guest expectations and ownership priorities.
  • Lead the capital planning process, ensuring efficient use of resources for property improvements.
  • Implement technology and digital tools (PMS, RMS, guest engagement platforms) to optimize operations and enhance the guest journey.
  • Guarantee full compliance with local labor laws, safety regulations, and brandpolicies.

GUEST EXPERIENCE & COMMUNITY RELATIONS

  • Champion the delivery of unique and memorable guest experiences, monitoring feedback and implementing continuous improvements.
  • Promote a culture of authentic, personalized hospitality that reflects the spirit of Venice and the craftsmanship of Murano.
  • Develop strong relationships with local partners, artisans, and institutions to position the hotel as an active participant in the cultural and social life of Murano.
  • Advocate for sustainable practices that respect the lagoon’s fragile environment and contribute to responsible tourism.

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team, creating a workplace culture rooted in inclusivity, respect, and accountability.
  • Attract and retain top hospitality talent, ensuring strong leadership pipelines for the future.
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentoring opportunities to strengthen colleagues’ skills and align them with the brand values.
  • Foster open communication and cross-departmental collaboration to achieve shared goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a General Manager within lifestyle, upscale, or urban hospitality, ideally with at least 3 years in the role.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations with a balanced expertise in both Rooms and F&B.
  • Demonstrated success in budgeting, P&L management, revenue optimization, and forecasting.
  • Excellent command of English and Italian, both spoken and written; additional languages will be considered an asset.
  • University degree preferred, ideally in Hospitality Management or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with ownership, corporate stakeholders, and local partners.
  • Leadership skills with a proven ability to coach, mentor, and inspire teams.
  • Passion for hospitality, with cultural sensitivity and an appreciation of Venice’s and Murano’s unique identity.
  • Flexibility and resilience to thrive in a dynamic, international, and highly competitive market.
