Job Description

• Act as a subject matter expert on relational databases, covering modelling, migration, performance testing, and operations.
• Work with open-source and commercial databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) across major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Alicloud).
• Lead technical discussions, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept projects with customers.
• Advise clients on compatibility, deployment, administration, migration, and optimization of OceanBase database.
• Identify client pain points and position solutions to address business and technical challenges.
• Support implementation in collaboration with delivery, product, engineering, and marketing teams.
• Maintain competitive insights and provide technical guidance to customers and internal teams.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years in pre-sales or post-sales technical roles; ideally 2+ years as a solution architect at a database/cloud technology company.
• Hands-on experience as a Database Administrator or Architect, with strong SQL skills (MySQL/Oracle preferred).
• Familiarity with mainstream databases (Oracle, MySQL, Snowflake, MongoDB, Amazon Aurora, Google Spanner) and proficiency in at least one.
• Knowledge of public cloud platforms and deployment of workloads.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently with customers.
• Bonus: application development experience (Java, Python, NodeJS, .NET).
