Overview
Oversee purchase and delivery of all production and logistics equipment required for the plant ensuring quality specifications and timelines. Oversee purchase and supplier management to optimize cost while ensuring quality specifications, timelines, controls, and compliance within the limits of organizational and statutory policies & procedures. Overall management of Materials and Stores.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop guidelines and SOPs (with clear workflow and approval processes) for buying, hiring, maintenance, and supply of all plant production assets to ensure the adoption of best standards & practices, project delivery schedule, and cost optimization.
- Monitor the expenses on a periodic basis, introduce cost control measures, and evaluate Buying vs Hiring options for the projects.
- Review technical specifications/requirements for all RFPs.
- Build relationships with vendors/contractors and ensure management of vendor service contracts, AMCs and agreements in a cost-efficient manner.
- Oversee the storage of equipment & spare parts used for projects including permits & logistics requirements for transferring and parking heavy vehicles.
- Negotiate favorable terms of purchase agreements with suppliers which meet company needs, while achieving favorable purchase prices and timely procurement.
- Review and expedite purchase of assigned materials, where appropriate, to ensure a continuous supply to meet production schedules.
- Oversee development and execution of equipment maintenance schedule to avoid breakdowns and liaise with manufacturers.
- Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing heads for equipment maintenance schedule to ensure availability in case of breakdowns.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices to the suppliers by sending the required documents for verification and payment processing to the commercial team.
- Oversee the mobilization and logistics processes e.g. traffic permits and approvals; to ensure transportation / delivery of equipment to the final location and the registration of licenses and certifications and also managing the BEA CUKAI documentation.
- Review current and historical demand of materials and trends to determine optimal stock levels.
- Foster a culture of development, guidance and empowerment within Procurement division and promote a high-performance working environment embracing the values of Indorama Corporation.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in manufacturing industry (planning / logistics) with at least 6 years in a leadership role.
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical. Masters Degree with specialization in Operations.
