Client Overview

The company is a foreign‑owned charcoal briquette factory with extensive experience in the industry, operating a production facility in Central Java and serving both domestic and international markets. The factory specializes in producing premium‑grade coconut shell charcoal briquettes, combining natural resources with advanced production expertise. Its supply chain supports the full production cycle, from sourcing raw materials to final delivery.

The business primarily serves B2B clients across consumer goods, industrial products, and export sectors, ensuring consistent quality at scale. With strong engineering leadership, the company focuses on maintaining high production standards, continuous improvement in equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and adherence to safety regulations to achieve world‑class operational performance.

Job Role

The Production Manager will oversee end‑to‑end production operations, ensuring smooth workflow, efficiency, quality control, manpower allocation, and machinery readiness. The role requires strong analytical capability, leadership, and hands‑on operational oversight. The Production Manager will lead improvement initiatives, maintain production targets, and align daily operations with the company’s strategic values and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and allocate production schedules, monitor execution, and report deviations to PPIC and GM Operations.
  • Analyze daily production reports, identify trends, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor material usage and reduce losses below target thresholds.
  • Analyze causes of unplanned downtime and lead corrective actions.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and collaborate with Engineering & Maintenance teams for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to ensure machine reliability.
  • Conduct quality inspections in collaboration with QC and ensure compliance with standards, SOPs, and production processes.
  • Implement safety protocols with HSE, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Prepare monthly reports on efficiency, downtime, and cost savings; implement initiatives to achieve 3–10% annual cost reduction.
  • Support annual budget preparation aligned with production forecasts.
  • Lead, evaluate, and mentor Production Supervisors and operators across shifts; facilitate weekly performance reviews and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Ensure development of future leaders and alignment of teams with core company values.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of production or manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in biomass, chemical, materials, powder processing, agriculture‑based plants, light industrial production, or charcoal briquettes.
  • Experienced in production planning, efficiency improvement, manpower allocation, and managing multi‑shift operations.
  • Proven ability to lead supervisors and large production teams, collaborating with QC, Engineering, PPIC, and HSE.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, ERP/MES software, quality control, production line management, and safety protocols.
  • Analytical, data‑driven decision‑making with excellent planning, scheduling, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross‑functional leadership; highly detail‑oriented and process‑driven.
