Job description
Overview

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, 3 years of experience as a process engineer in industrial projects (food & beverage, chemical, oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, air treatment, or similar).

Understanding of basic thermodynamic calculations and their application to process equipment, FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) stages, implementation design, and commissioning.

Proficiency in processing software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, HTRI, or similar is a plus.

Understanding of engineering standards such as API, ASME, ANSI, EHEDG, JIS, ISO, SNI, PED, and other similar standards.

Able to read drawings (P&ID) and detailed Bill of Quantities.

Willing to be assigned to a project.

Responsibilities
  • Perform calculations and process evaluations for piping systems related to working fluids.
  • Prepare/review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and P&IDs.
  • Determine process parameters (flow, pressure, temperature) as the basis for piping design.
  • Coordinate with piping engineers, drafters, and clients to ensure design and piping compliance.
  • Prepare process documents required for tenders and project implementation.
  • Conduct preliminary process design (FEED) studies to ensure technical and economic feasibility.
  • Prepare process flow diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Read and review heat and mass balances for the process system.
  • Prepare process data sheets for key equipment (vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, tanks, etc).
  • Coordinate with the mechanical team to validate equipment specifications.
  • Provide technical input for process material selection based on the fluid used.
  • Prepare pressure drop calculations for piping and fluid distribution systems.
  • Explain pump requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 3 years of experience as a process engineer in industrial projects (as listed above).
  • Understanding of basic thermodynamic calculations and their application to process equipment, FEED stages, implementation design, and commissioning.
  • Proficiency in processing software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, HTRI, or similar (preferred).
  • Understanding of engineering standards such as API, ASME, ANSI, EHEDG, JIS, ISO, SNI, PED, and related standards.
  • Ability to read P&ID drawings and detailed Bills of Quantities.
  • Willingness to be assigned to a project.
