About the role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team at PT Marcopolo Shipyard in Batam, Kepulauan Riau. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and a range of excellent benefits.

What you’ll be doing

• Calculating and processing bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including regular pay, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
• Ensuring payroll compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
• Maintaining accurate employee records and payroll data
• Preparing and submitting payroll-related reports and filings
• Responding to employee inquiries and addressing any payroll-related concerns
• Assisting with the implementation of payroll system updates and improvements
• Collaborating with the HR team to ensure a seamless payroll process

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a payroll officer or similar role
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing and applicable labour laws and regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in using payroll software and spreadsheet applications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees
• A degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
• Mandarin/Teochew/Hokkien is preffered better
