Job Description

As Manager Metallurgist, you will be responsible for overseeing metallurgical processes and studies to optimize gold recovery and ensure operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage metallurgical studies for gold ore processing.
  • Prepare and review engineering design and detailed engineering packages prior to EPC execution.
  • Collaborate with geologists, mining engineers, and process teams to ensure alignment of metallurgical strategies.
  • Develop and implement metallurgical test work programs, including laboratory and pilot plant trials.
  • Provide technical input for plant design, commissioning, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in metallurgical roles within gold mining operations.
  • Proven track record in metallurgical studies, engineering design, and detailed engineering prior to EPC phase.
  • Strong knowledge of gold processing technologies (gravity, flotation, leaching, CIP/CIL).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in remote mining locations and adapt to dynamic project environments.
