Who We We
My Free Course is an education platform that connects adult learners with government-funded qualifications. We link applicants to accredited educational institutions and colleges.
Our mission is simple but powerful: education should be free, accessible, and life-changing. We help 19+ adults gain professionally recognised qualifications . We are a small, fast-growing company.
About the Role
Our marketing team is looking for a driven, skilled Junior Performance Marketer. This person will run Meta advertising campaigns on their own. They will also learn from more experienced team members. This is a hands‑on role, not about account management or project coordination. You will set up, launch, optimise, and report on Meta advertising campaigns. You will also support Google Ads and possibly TikTok Ads as we grow.
Important: Independence with Support
You must be technically capable – able to set up tracking, build campaigns, and execute without hand‑holding. But you'll have significant guidance: daily support (first 90 days), regular reviews, and weekly mentorship.
You ride the bike. We coach you to ride faster. High standards, high support.
What You Will Do (Day‑to‑Day)
Campaign Setup & Execution (60% of your time)
Set up Meta Pixel and Conversion API for accurate tracking across our enrolment funnel.
Configure GA4 events via Google Tag Manager to track landing page visits, application starts, eligibility checks and enrolment completions.
Build campaign structures, ad sets and audiences in Meta Ads Manager.
Brief our creative team on ad concepts and set up ads with proper specifications.
Launch campaigns and monitor during the learning phase.
Test and validate tracking using Meta Events Manager, Pixel Helper and GA4 DebugView before launch.
Optimisation & Analysis (30% of your time)
Monitor daily CPL, CTR, CPC, frequency and conversion rates.
Make data‑driven optimisation decisions: budget reallocation, audience adjustments, creative refreshes and bid strategy changes.
A/B test audiences, creatives and messaging to improve performance.
Diagnose and fix tracking issues when conversion numbers aren't aligned across platforms.
Build and maintain Looker Studio dashboards for campaign performance reporting.
Report weekly to team manager with insights and recommendations.
Strategy & Collaboration (10% of your time)
Participate in campaign planning sessions.
Research UK target audiences and provide insights for campaign targeting and messaging.
Present monthly campaign results and strategy recommendations to the marketing manager.
Collaborate with the wider team to ensure campaigns are set up for success.
You must be able to independently handle technical campaign setup. If you have always let developers handle technical work or depended on others for tracking, this role is not for you.
Specifically, you must have hands‑on experience with:
Setting up Meta Pixel (base code installation, event configuration, custom conversions)
Implementing Conversion API (CAPI) for server‑side tracking
Configuring GA4 conversion events via Google Tag Manager
Setting up UTM parameters and tracking campaign attribution
Troubleshooting when tracking breaks or conversion numbers don’t match.
You will be asked to walk through technical setup processes in your interview. We need to verify you can actually do this work, not just describe it conceptually.
2+ years of hands‑on experience personally building and optimising Meta advertising campaigns.
Deep understanding of campaign objectives, audience targeting, creative best practices, and Meta's auction system.
Experience with both prospecting (cold audience) and retargeting campaigns.
Proven ability to optimise for Cost Per Lead (CPL) or Cost Per Acquisition (CPA).
Understanding of Meta's learning phase, frequency management, and ad fatigue.
Comfortable working with data: calculating CPL, CTR, conversion rates, and ROI.
Experience using Google Analytics (GA4) and Looker Studio (or similar reporting tools).
Ability to diagnose performance issues and develop hypotheses for testing.
Understanding of attribution challenges across multiple platforms.
Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken).
You will be working in a UK company, targeting UK audiences, and presenting to native English speakers.
You will need to write campaign strategies, analyse UK consumer behaviour, and communicate clearly via Google Chat and video calls.
Experience with UK market campaigns or other English‑speaking markets (Australia, US, Canada).
Understanding of UK working‑class demographics and adult education sector.
Experience in lead generation campaigns (vs. e‑commerce/direct response).
Knowledge of Google Ads (Search, Display, or YouTube).
Familiarity with education sector marketing or high‑consideration purchases.
Previous experience working remotely in distributed teams across time zones.
We would rather hire someone with 2‑3 years of solid, hands‑on experience who’s hungry to learn than someone with 5 years who’s set in their ways. You will be working with experienced colleagues — we need someone who is coachable, curious, and eager to level up their skills.
You will be working remotely. We need someone who:
Shows up on time (UK hours: 8 AM‑4 PM UK time).
Communicates proactively when blockers arise.
Takes ownership of campaign performance (good and bad).
Documents processes and shares knowledge with the team.
Things will break. Tracking will fail. Campaigns will underperform. We need someone who:
Stays calm under pressure.
Troubleshoots systematically.
Asks for help when needed (but tries to solve it first).
Learns from failures.
Direct mentorship from the senior team.
Exposure to UK marketing practices and education sector dynamics.
Opportunity to grow into a mid‑level Performance Marketer role within 18‑24 months based on performance.
Fully remote – work from home.
Regular team collaboration.
Occasional team in‑person meet‑ups.
