Job Vacancy: General Sales Manager (GSM)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and high-performing General Sales Manager (GSM) to lead and develop our national sales operations. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving sales performance, expanding market presence, and ensuring strong execution across all regions and channels.

As part of our mission to make Indonesia—and the world—smokeless through tobacco-free and nicotine-free pouches, the GSM will play a critical role in accelerating business growth, strengthening distribution, and ensuring operational excellence in the field.

The GSM will oversee all sales teams—including Sales Managers and Regional Leaders—and manage nationwide networks across distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and general trade channels. The role requires strong negotiation skills, business development capability, excellent communication and presentation skills, and consistent execution discipline. The successful candidate must also be experienced in leading national sales meetings and actively monitoring sales performance and field execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage national sales teams including Sales Managers and Regional Leaders.
  • Develop and execute national sales strategies to strengthen market share and revenue growth.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor Sales SOPs, KPI performance systems, and compliance frameworks.
  • Manage and expand strategic relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers, modern trade partners, and key corporate accounts.
  • Expand business penetration into new regions and provinces while optimizing channel performance.
  • Manage and grow sales across multiple channels: Modern Trade, General Trade, Retailers and Distributor Networks, Vape Stores, Liquor Stores, Pharmacies, Transportation Channels, Tobacco or Cigarette Stores, Hotel and premium Residential Channels etc.
  • Conduct accurate sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure execution alignment.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to support strategic direction.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a General Sales Manager, or 5+ years as a National Sales Manager.
  • Proven success in building and scaling sales coverage across multiple Indonesian provinces.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and confidence representing the company both internally and externally.
  • Established relationships with major distributors, retailers, and trade partners nationwide.
  • Good English proficiency (spoken and written).
  • Proficient in ERP systems, CRM platforms, and digital-based sales tools.
  • Strong strategic planning, commercial acumen, and analytical capability.
  • Familiar with dealing with national coverage modern trade channels and experienced in negotiating business terms with them.
  • Accustomed to handling major cities across Indonesia with strong operational and commercial execution.
  • Experience leading national sales meetings and monitoring field execution.
  • FMCG experience required; tobacco industry experience is an advantage.
