Overview

The Finance Controller in GMS Church is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial planning, reporting, and control functions. This full-time position is based in Surabaya and offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in financial management to support the strategic objectives of the Church.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Monitor, verify and implement effective financial control processes and systems to safeguard the Church's assets
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the leadership team to support decision-making
• Manage the Church's budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to align financial plans with organizational goals
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with all relevant financial regulations
• Lead and cooperate with the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance
• Liaise with internal & external auditors/consultants

What we're looking for

• Qualified accountant (CPA, CA or equivalent) with 3+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in the non-profit or religious sector
• Proven track record of successfully managing financial planning, reporting, and control functions in a complex organization
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Proficient in the use of financial software and Microsoft Office suite
• Good proficiency in English language and having TOEFL/IELTS is preferred
