Job description

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate equipment, create detailed plans and specifications, and ensure systems meet relevant codes and standards.
• Conduct fire risk assessments: evaluate potential hazards and develop strategies to reduce fire risks.
• Integrate fire protection into building design: collaborate with Project Manager and other engineers to ensure fire safety is considered from the beginning of the project.
• Install fire protection systems correctly and ensure they function as intended.
• Ensure regulatory compliance: stay up-to-date with fire safety codes and regulations and ensure designs and systems meet these requirements.
• Prepare reports and documentation: produce detailed reports on fire risk assessments, system designs, inspections, and other relevant information.
• Provide advice and support to the Project Manager and team.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Experience in fire protection design and code consulting.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of fire protection engineering.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and fire protection design software.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to fire protection and life safety.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
