A leading research organization in Indonesia is seeking an experienced Economic Researcher to lead agroforestry development studies. This role involves conducting economic analyses to improve farmer livelihoods through rigorous field studies. Required qualifications include a relevant degree and 2 years of experience in rural development research, as well as a strong ability in data analysis. The position demands fluency in English and expertise in statistical tools like R, STATA, and SPSS, alongside a commitment to publish research findings.
The Economic Researcher will lead the economic component of TJF’s research on agroforestry development and farmer livelihood systems in Indragiri Hilir. The project examines how agroforestry can strengthen food security and economic sustainability in suboptimal land contexts. The researcher will be responsible for analysing, modelling, and forecasting the economic feasibility of agroforestry-based livelihoods—combining field-based economic data collection with business and market analysis. The position requires both quantitative economic expertise and contextual understanding of rural livelihoods and environmental challenges.
