The Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for providing operational support for all activities related to the public cloud and infrastructure on the x86 platform architecture including Linux for all types of servers and operating systems for Deloitte APAC. The candidate will be responsible for managing the relevant systems operationally, ensuring compliance to Deloitte global standards, and supporting troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure‑related problems. The candidate must be able to think out of the box to explore new ways of working to improve the operation of end‑to‑end infrastructure in the region. A successful candidate for this position must understand thoroughly how to leverage cloud and infrastructure technology with hands‑on technical experience including excellent technical skills in Linux (SUSE, RHEL, AM2) and knowledge/understanding of core network, security, database and application concepts. The candidate should be well organized, able to work independently, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for provisioning, configuring, and maintaining all servers (upgrades and patching) including application software (with support from specialist SME’s – e.g. SAP BASIS team members)
• Responsible for working with the network team to maintain the health of the network and servers and ensure an optimized environment.
• Ensure infrastructure and associated solutions/services comply with Deloitte Global Standard (i.e. Global Technology Operating Model (GTOM) including Cyber/SSDLC standards)
• Support requests from SAP BW/HANA and BASIS team members (and where applicable, end users of the service), and resolve problems related to Infrastructure
• Identify and analyze any issues that relate to the performance of the systems, and work closely with the application team and other supporting teams to recommend and implement solutions to resolve – including (but not limited to) right‑sizing, optimization and re‑architecting
• Perform tasks that are included in the operations (BAU) run‑sheet
• Consider/identify any discrepancies and/or areas of improvement in the environment and implement to ensure continuous improvement and value‑add to our users
• Be involved in developing and overseeing the backup, replication, clustering and fail‑over strategies, including regular BCP and DR testing; Creation and maintenance of proper, well‑structured and complete documentation of all procedures, and configurations pertaining to the cloud/infrastructure environment

Operational (BAU) tasks

• Active monitoring/review of infrastructure health and response – including availability, usage and performance metrics (compute, storage, network etc.)
• Regular review/audit of security logs to adhere to cyber compliance requirements
• Regular review of cyber tooling dashboards to identify missing patches and vulnerabilities, and proactive management including regular patching and remediation
• Coordination of firewall changes
• Cloud cost review and optimization (via savings/reservation plans)
• Infrastructure scaling based on system load and performance review
• Storage, backup and archive management
• BCP and DR testing
• Asset records accurately captured/updated in CMDB (ServiceNow)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer sciences from local/overseas university is preferred and/or ~5+ years equivalence in an enterprise environment
• Strong hands‑on technical experience implementing and managing AWS, Azure and GCP services
• In‑depth knowledge of managing and maintaining medium complexity Linux/Unix environments
• Deployment and operational expertise with Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of managing and maintaining databases such as MaxDB, HANA, MySQL, MS‑SQL, NoSQL, Amazon RDS, Redis or PostgreSQL
• Experience with Boomi (optional), supporting components (e.g. JRE) and shell scripting
• Broad understanding of technical problems and solutions with ability and expertise to implement
