About the Role

As a Data Scientist in the Solution Engineering department, you will support and collaborate with Solution Engineers to design and develop GeoAI models, as well as train and experiment with various data types.

As data scientist you will be responsible for key tasks such as:

  • Design and implement scalable GeoAI with a strong emphasis on geospatial use cases.
  • Manage the end-to-end GeoAI lifecycle: data preparation, model development, model evaluation, inferencing, accuracy assessment, model deployment, and model management.
  • Integrate AI and GIS workflows within enterprise systems to enhance mapping processes and generate actionable insights.
  • Work with large-scale geospatial datasets (satellite, aerial imagery, drone imagery, LiDAR, IoT, sensor data, and spatial databases).
  • Collaborate with Solution Engineering teams to design data-driven solutions that address business needs and industry challenges.
  • Collaborate with Implementation teams to deliver GeoAI-enabled projects for customers and partners.
  • Support solution deployment in enterprise environments, including cloud services, containers, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Document methodologies, workflows, and technical processes in a clear and structured manner.
  • Explore and evaluate Esri product capabilities and innovations, stay current with new features and best practices, and participate enablement programs to share knowledge with internal teams, customers, and partners.
About You

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist with knowledge in GIS, particularly in Image Processing, along with a strong understanding of Big Data, IoT, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence concepts to drive successful development of a scalable GeoAI solutions.

  • Min. bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or any related fields.
  • Min 2 years of professional experience as Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or equivalent role.
  • Strong experience with Machine Learning & Deep Learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Proficiency in Python for data science, AI model development, and automation.
  • Familiarity with Big Data, IoT, and statistics as applied to geospatial AI.
  • Knowledge of model deployment techniques (containers, APIs, cloud platforms like AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and solution integration approaches.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills to present technical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to write clear, well-structured technical documentation.
  • Understanding of GIS concepts and practical experience in geospatial analysis and image processing, is an advantage.
