About the Company

Imported Food Customs Clearance Specialist (Jakarta)

Department: Logistics/Supply Chain Department

Work Location: Jakarta, Indonesia

About the Role

Be responsible for the whole-process customs clearance of food imported from China to Jakarta, Indonesia, including fruits, vegetables, snacks, etc. This includes but is not limited to preparing and submitting customs clearance documents, communicating with customs, calculating and paying taxes and fees, ensuring legal and timely customs clearance of goods.

Responsibilities
  • Be familiar with the relevant laws, regulations and customs supervision requirements for food import in Indonesia, especially the quarantine and inspection procedures for fresh products such as fruits and vegetables.
  • Avoid customs clearance risks in advance and handle various abnormal issues during customs clearance (such as inspection, supplementary certificates, return of goods, etc.).
  • Establish and maintain good cooperative relationships with relevant government departments such as local customs, quarantine bureau, ports in Indonesia, as well as logistics and warehousing partners to ensure smooth customs clearance channels.
  • Track the customs clearance progress of goods after arrival at the port, and timely feedback the customs clearance status to the domestic procurement team and relevant internal departments to ensure accurate information synchronization.
  • Organize various documents and materials during the customs clearance process, establish a complete customs clearance file, and do a good job in cost accounting and data statistics.
  • Cooperate with other departments of the company to complete other work related to customs clearance, such as assisting in the compliance review of imported food.
Qualifications
  • Local Indonesian resident or foreigner with legal work status in Indonesia.
  • Those with customs clearance work experience in local Indonesian fruit importers or food import enterprises are preferred.
Required Skills
  • Proficiency in Indonesian and Chinese, with fluent listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
  • Able to skillfully use Chinese and English for business communication, document processing and cross-departmental collaboration (coordinating with domestic teams).
  • With 3 years or more of experience in customs clearance for food import in Indonesia, familiar with the customs clearance process, required documents and relevant policies for food imported from China to Indonesia (especially fruits, vegetables and snacks), and able to independently complete the whole-process customs clearance operation.
  • Familiar with the work procedures and communication skills of relevant departments such as Indonesian customs and quarantine.
  • Those with good resources of government departments and partners are preferred.
  • Strong risk awareness, problem-solving ability and pressure resistance, able to deal with emergencies during customs clearance.
  • Serious and responsible in work, careful and rigorous, with good team spirit, communication and coordination ability, proficient in office software (such as Excel, Word).
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in customs clearance work with a focus on food imports.
  • Established relationships with government departments and logistics partners.
