Job summary

A non-profit foundation in Semarang seeks an experienced candidate for the Forestry Projects position. You will coordinate carbon project development, manage project schedules, and ensure timely delivery. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science or Forestry, 5 years of project management experience, and fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia. This role involves working in an office and regular site visits across Indonesia.

Job description

We have an immediate opening for an experienced candidate of Forestry Projects at our head office location in Semarang Indonesia. We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual to join our team. The responsibilities of the position include coordinating and guiding with our project development Team for carbon project development initiative. The successful candidate will be part of the team that will identify and assess potential carbon project to ensure that they meet the project sponsor’s expectations and completed delivered within schedule.

Responsibilities

• Drafting a carbon project proposal and analyst for carbon project initiative
• Manage onboarding of carbon projects with our Operational Team.
• Coordinate with our Project Development Team, Senior Manager, Director, and staff to assign resources and create realistic schedules with milestones for carbon all forestry projects.
• Monitor the schedule and expendite carbon project progress to achieve on-time project delivery
• Monitor carbon project progress to assure contract fulfillment and standard compliance
• Validate carbon project milestones
• Monitor material and resource availability and coordinate with the relevant Manager and staff to avoid delays
• Manage MRV deliverables and reporting to project sponsors
• Provide guidance to the operational team to achieve carbon project targets in the field
• Report to management on carbon project status

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental science, Forestry or equivalent
• 5 years experience in project management

• Skilled use of office machines and software such as MS Word, Excel, etc.
• An understanding of the components needed to develop a forestry project

Valuable Experience

• Experience working with forestry and tree planting programs
• Experience working with community development projects
• Experience with nature-based carbon credit/offset projects

Working Conditions

• Working in an office environment with computers and communication tools
• Regular visits to project locations across Indonesia
• Working hours as required to fulfill the job responsibilities
