Overview
- Lead a team of senior technicians to carry out scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) on passenger trains, engineering vehicles, light rail vehicles, components, and equipment as assigned by supervisor.
- Ensure the team complies with all PM and CM works, and related tasks, following approved work instructions, quality procedures, safety and operational procedures, and high maintenance standards.
- Plan and coordinate within the team and with other teams to complete assigned maintenance tasks within established standard times.
- Ensure the team has the necessary qualifications and authorization to carry out daily tasks and any tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Be responsible for the safety, welfare and discipline of the team, and for the upkeep of team equipment, tools, and the working environment.
- Participate in and complete training and courses provided by Singapore One Rail or its contractor to achieve the necessary qualification to perform maintenance work.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors with sufficient competence.
- Complete preventive and corrective maintenance tasks within established standard times, in accordance with work instructions and related procedures.
- Exercise safety at all times, in line with established safety procedures; be responsible for the safety of self and all co-workers, including contractors.
- Perform supporting maintenance activities (e.g., Train Driver/Shunter, overhead crane operator, forklift driver) as authorized and required by the supervisor.
- Maintain workplace order and hygiene through housekeeping and cleaning tasks.
- Be able to work on a shift roster system in accordance with MOM guidelines and the Collective Agreement.
- Undertake any other tasks incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works assigned.
- Ensure trains are cleared for service only when they meet the minimum condition standard and repairs are carried out effectively by competent staff and thoroughly tested before service clearance.
- Ensure staff undertake their work safely in accordance with Company Rules and Procedures.
- Undertake monthly inspection of the Examination Building and Sidings Areas, identify hazards and problems, address them where possible, and report the remainder.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Higher Nitec or Nitec in engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Mechatronic Engineering).
- Preferably with 1 year of relevant experience in the railway industry.
- Knowledge in electrical/electronic/pneumatic and air conditioning systems.
- Possess planning and prioritizing skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have good initiative and ability to work well independently in demanding situations.
