A leading bakery company in the United Kingdom is looking for a Bakery Supervisor to support the Bakery Manager in overseeing production. The role involves supervising daily bakery operations, ensuring quality standards, and promoting a positive team environment. The ideal candidate has experience in a bakery setting, strong leadership skills, and a good understanding of food safety regulations. This hands-on position requires someone passionate about baking and product quality.
Qualifications

- Supervise daily bakery production to ensure products meet specifications.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to team members.

- Assist with production planning to meet customer orders.
Skills
Education
The Bakery Supervisor will support the Bakery Manager in the day-to-day running of the production bakery. This role involves supervising and motivating members of the production team, ensuring baked goods are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Bakery Supervisor will be hands‑on in production while overseeing workflows, quality, and hygiene.
- Supervise daily bakery production to ensure products are made to specification and quality standards
- Support the team in producing consistent, high‑quality baked goods
- Carry out regular quality checks on products during and after production
- Ensure recipes, portion control, and presentation standards are followed
- Oversee and support members of the production team during shifts
- Allocate tasks and ensure production targets are met
- Provide guidance, coaching, and on‑the‑job training to team members
- Promote a positive, supportive, and productive team environment
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across the bakery
- Support allergen controls, traceability, and due diligence records
- Report any issues, risks, or maintenance needs to the Bakery Manager
- Assist with production planning to meet customer orders and deadlines
- Help manage stock levels of ingredients and report shortages
- Support continuous improvement in processes, efficiency, and waste reduction
- Step in for the Bakery Manager when required
- Previous experience in a bakery or food production environment
- Experience supervising or leading a small team
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- experience working with NPD teams and realeasing new products
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on production environment
- Formal bakery or food production qualifications
- Experience in craft or handmade bakery production
- Reliable, proactive, and well organised
