Job Title: Warehouse Operative Reporting to: Warehouse Supervisor Direct reports: None Department: Warehouse & Logistics Business Unit/ Organisation Barnsley (Premdor) Purpose of the Role The main purpose of this role is to support business operations and customer demand to ensure the safe and efficient receipt of products from production into the warehouse; the safe and effective storage of product; and the timely despatch of products from the warehouse. Main responsibilities

• To pick products correctly and accurately, and in line with specified deadlines
• Be accountable for the quality of the work you carry out
• Move stock around either by hand, using lifting equipment or a forklift truck.
• Load goods for dispatch
• Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
• Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety, and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others.
• Demonstrate personal integrity by being trustworthy and honest.

Qualifications & experience

• GCSEs level D-G, Key Skills Level 1, NVQ Level 1, International Vocational Certificate (IVQ)
• A counterbalance forklift truck licence and or VNA licence is essential
• Must have previous order picking experience
• an excellent timekeeper and able to demonstrate good attendance in previous employment
• trustworthy, open, honest and constructive
• flexible in your approach to duties and tasks; able to adapt to both current and future business needs
• able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/ cost of poor quality
• willing to undergo training on low level order picking trucks
• a high level of numeracy and literacy is required as work is allocated through data terminals.
