Ramp Agent

Permanent Part Time
Location: Gatwick Airport
Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern
Pay: £15.94 hourly rate

Join our team at Gatwick Airport as a Ramp Agent. You will work as part of the Passengers Services team, driving ambi-lifts or minibuses on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility between the aircraft and terminal.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting special assistance passengers at the aircraft door and helping them transfer to their seats or wheelchairs using safe manual handling techniques. Maintain professionalism, politeness, and courtesy.
• Carrying out Customer Car Agent duties as directed, escorting arriving and departing passengers with special assistance needs through the airport, either on foot, by wheelchair, or electric buggy.
• Providing baggage assistance.
• Ensuring wheelchairs and buggies are clean and tidy.
• Completing and submitting necessary paperwork promptly.
• Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

What We Are Looking For:

• Customer service experience.
• Experience driving a 7.5t vehicle or working at heights is advantageous.
• Previous airline or airport experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
• Excellent communication skills with an empathetic approach.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Basic IT skills.
• Ability to act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.
• Ability to produce clear verbal and written reports.

Essential:

• Full driving license with categories C & D (held for at least 2 years).
• Age 23 or over for insurance purposes.
• Ability to obtain an airside driving permit, including passing a medical and colour-blind test.
