Residential Home Manager
Job summary
An elderly care provider in Derbyshire is looking for a Home Manager to oversee the operational performance of a residential care home. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience in a managerial role in residential care, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for high-quality care. The role offers a salary between £45,000 and £50,000 per annum based on experience.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years' experience as a Registered or Home Manager within residential care for older people.
- Proven experience in turnaround or service improvement environments.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day-to-day management of the home.
- Leading, developing, and supporting staff to deliver compassionate care.
- Implementing robust action plans to improve quality.

Stephen James Consulting are working with one of their expanding elderly care providers in the search for a Home Manager for a medium-sized residential care home based in Derbyshire.
This key leadership role will be responsible for driving quality improvement, staff engagement, and commercial performance within a well-established home providing high-quality residential care for older people.
- Overseeing the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with CQC and company standards
- Leading, developing, and supporting staff to deliver person-centred, compassionate care
- Implementing robust action plans to improve quality and CQC outcomes
- Managing budgets, occupancy, and staffing to achieve strong operational performance
- Building positive relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders
- At least 2 years' experience as a Registered or Home Manager within residential care for older people
- Proven experience in turnaround or service improvement environments
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
