Responsibilities

  • Provide essential administrative and logistical support to the Partnerships & Philanthropy team.
  • Manage the team’s shared inbox and ensure systems work seamlessly.
  • Identify new donors and ensure supporters feel valued.
  • Support the Partnerships team in delivering stewardship and writing proposals.
  • Coordinate the team day to day and contribute to fundraising success.

Partnerships & Philanthropy Assistant

We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

We currently have around 95 staff based in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we’re in a privileged position to be able to grow our staff team to deliver our ambitious strategy, On a mission. There are huge challenges facing bowel cancer patients across the UK and our community needs us now more than ever. We’re building a strong and united team to bring us closer to a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and at Bowel Cancer UK we are committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates may be subject to either a satisfactory basic, standard or enhanced DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) dependent upon the role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide essential administrative and logistical support to the Partnerships & Philanthropy team.
  • Manage the team’s shared inbox, keeping income and expenditure records accurate and ensuring systems and processes work seamlessly.
  • Identify new donors and ensure our supporters feel valued, inspired and well looked after throughout their journey with Bowel Cancer UK.
  • Support the Partnerships team in delivering high-quality stewardship and opportunities to complete prospect research and help write proposals to Trusts and Foundations.
  • Play a key role in coordinating the team day to day and contribute to our fundraising success.
Qualifications
  • Proactive, organised and enthusiastic with great attention to detail.
  • Natural self-starter with a passion for high-value fundraising.
  • Great communication skills and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Experience or interest in high-value fundraising and donor stewardship is an asset.
