Better Cotton is the world's largest cotton sustainability programme. We exist to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, the environment it grows in, and the sector's future. We work with farmers, ginners, traders, brands, and retailers to deliver traceable, sustainable cotton at scale. The Traceability Manager ensures a seamless and valuable user experience for Better Cotton’s traceability platform, leading functional requirements gathering, platform enhancements, and new traceability innovations. The role directly contributes to the organisation’s mission of improving transparency and accountability in the cotton supply chain and drives innovation, user satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Looking ahead to 2030, we are targeting reducing GHG emissions from cotton production by half, big cuts in synthetic pesticide use, improvement of soil health across our network, increase in farm income, and support for women's empowerment among farmers and farm workers.
Initial screening may include a brief phone interview or video call. Successful candidates will be invited for one or more rounds of interviews with various stakeholders such as the hiring manager, team members and potentially senior management. Internal candidates may discuss the transition of current responsibilities to the new role.
Depending on the role, candidates may be required to complete assessments, technical tests, or skills evaluations. Internal candidates may demonstrate their existing skills through current job performance or past project outcomes.
Once progressed further, reference checks will be conducted to validate work history, skills and qualifications. Internal candidates may be asked for references from current or previous supervisors to provide insight into performance and capabilities.
After completing interviews, assessments and reference checks, the hiring team evaluates performance and fit. If selected and references are satisfactory, a formal job offer letter will outline terms of employment, compensation, benefits and any additional details. For internal candidates, the offer process may include a discussion about transition into the new role.
