An established manufacturing company in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage supplier negotiations and performance. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years in a similar role, with experience in supply chain management and ERP systems. This permanent position offers a structured schedule from Monday to Friday and an immediate start date.
Qualifications

- Experience in supply chain and inventory management.
- Understanding of production planning and cycles.
Responsibilities
- Identify new suppliers and negotiate contracts.
- Manage supplier performance and conduct quarterly reviews.
- Draft a rolling 3-year procurement strategy.
Skills
Senior Buyer
An established manufacturing company based in Birmingham B33 requires a purchasing manager.
Senior Buyer Duties:
- Identify new suppliers (steel, wood panels, fittings etc.) and negotiate contracts and supply arrangements.
- Manage supplier performance and run quarterly reviews.
- Draft a rolling 3-year procurement strategy and develop a KPI dashboard to monitor it's progress.
- Implement stock management processes.
- Analyse ERP data and MRP recommendations.
- Line management, coaching and developments of purchasing staff.
Senior Buyer Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years as a senior buyer in a manufacturing environment.
- Supply chain and inventory management experience.
- Understanding of production planning and cycles.
- ERP / MRP knowledge.
- Advanced Excel skills.
Senior Buyer Hours:
- 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 12.30pm Friday.
This is a permanent position that starts immediately.
