You will serve as a subject matter expert in purchasing systems, methods, and processes, and will act as deputy to the Purchasing Team Leader when required. This role will involve substantial engagement in new product development, from initial concept and prototyping through to full-scale production and ongoing support. As part of the organisations growth strategy, there is an increasing emphasis on outsourced content within the development lifecycle. The Senior Buyer will be instrumental in supporting and delivering this approach.
The Role:

  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Team Leader to shape and implement the overall purchasing strategy.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop and execute supply chain strategies for new product development, ensuring alignment with delivery, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers that align with the short-, medium-, and long-term needs of the business, with a focus on total cost of ownership across the product lifecycle.
  • Lead negotiations and finalise agreements for outsourced accessory projects, ensuring favourable commercial and operational terms.

Key Skills and Experience:Qualifications
  • Level 4 CIPS Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply (or equivalent).
Experience and Skills
  • Proven track record in supply chain management within the electronics and/or telecommunications sectors, including oversight of complex global supplier and customer relationships.
  • Hands-on experience managing offshore contract manufacturing operations.
  • Strong background in supporting product development from initial concept through to high-volume production.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage effectively with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
