The post-holder is a highly experienced, state registered Senior Biomedical Scientist responsible for scientific investigations in the diagnosis of infectious diseases and for managing the information and computer systems used by the Microbiology service. The role also includes acting as Information Officer for data search requests on the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Involved in the daily supervision of Biomedical Scientists and support staff. The post holder has technical responsibility for a section of the laboratory and will supervise and train qualified and unqualified staff.

• Perform scientific investigations in the diagnosis of infectious diseases.
• Manage information and computer systems used by the Microbiology service.
• Act as Information Officer for data searches on the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Supervise and support Biomedical Scientists and support staff on a daily basis.
• Hold technical responsibility for a section of the laboratory, including supervising and training staff (qualified and unqualified).

• State registered Senior Biomedical Scientist.
• Experience in supervising staff and managing laboratory information systems (LIMS).
• Experience in the investigations and diagnosis of infectious diseases.
