Job summary
A legal services provider is seeking an Assistant Education Lawyer to manage SEN caseloads, prepare cases, and represent the Council at hearings. This role requires a Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive, with strong expertise in education law and ideally experience within a Local Authority SEN legal team. The position offers hybrid/remote working arrangements, flexible hours, and competitive pay based on experience.

- Handle an SEN caseload from start to completion.
- Prepare cases and represent the Council at SENDIST hearings.
- Maintain systems supporting statutory SEN appeal processes.
- Represent the Authority at mediation while adhering to statutory processes.

- Represent the Authority at mediation whilst adhering to statutory processes.
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (CILEX) – essential due to litigation and representation requirements.
- Strong expertise in education law and SEN legislation.
- Ideally someone with working experience within a Local Authority SEN legal team.
- Hybrid / remote working.
- Weekly pay – the rate offered will depend on experience and interview performance.
