A leading media company is looking for an Acting Evening News Editor for Digital Spy. This part-time, remote role requires sourcing and writing breaking news about TV, Movies, and Soaps. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in digital entertainment news and a firm understanding of digital journalism demands, including SEO. Responsibilities include managing freelance workflows while maintaining the site’s reputation for accurate, engaging content.

This is a remote role, working between the hours of 3pm and 11pm on Mondays, Tuesday and alternate Thursdays.
The Role…
As Evening News Editor you’ll be responsible for steering the evening news output of Digital Spy, one of the UK’s best and most trusted entertainment news websites, between the hours of 3pm and 11pm on Mondays, Tuesday and alternate Thursdays. (Note: You will share the role with another Evening News Editor, who works Wednesdays, Fridays and alternate Thursdays.) You’ll source and write breaking news stories about TV, Movies and Soaps, as well as deciding angles and assigning stories to our team of out-of-hours freelancers and the Deputy Evening News Editor. Answering to the Editor, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining Digital Spy’s international reputation for accuracy and our comprehensive coverage of everything entertainment.
