This role is based in Tamworth, working across a dynamic acute hospital environment with strong links to medical, surgical and allied health teams across multiple wards, as well as surrounding hospitals. The service allows clinicians to work autonomously while remaining well supported by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

This is a varied and rewarding role offering a high level of autonomy as a sole practitioner, balanced with strong clinical and managerial support. You will manage a diverse caseload across the hospital and community, working independently while collaborating closely with medical, surgical and allied health teams.

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include ward rounds, planned clinics, responding to Electronic Journey Board referrals, providing education, participating in phone and telehealth consultations, developing wound care plans, delivering acute and ongoing stoma support, documentation and wound photography. You will also provide specialist wound and stomal advice to medical and surgical staff across the facility and surrounding services.

The role is worked Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, and involves some travel within the local region. You will be supported by the Surgical 1 Nursing Unit Manager, with access to daily clinical huddles, regular monthly catch‑ups and a team culture that encourages open, honest communication and collaboration.

You are a patient, passionate and flexible clinician who thrives in an autonomous role and enjoys problem‑solving in a complex clinical environment. You are able to effectively triage, think logically and creatively, and adapt to changing clinical priorities.

Key attributes and requirements include:

• Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant clinical experience, supported by post graduate qualifications or working towards and/or extensive experience.
• Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and decision‑making skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Specialist skills and experience are highly valued, with further development supported through ongoing education and professional networks.
