Location: Leicester
Salary: £34,000 (rising to £38,000 after probation) + up to £100 weekly bonus (c. £5k per annum), potential total earnings up to £43,200
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Logistics Broker to join our growing team in Leicester. This is a pivotal role, working closely with existing customers and transport subcontractors while also developing new business relationships to help drive the company's growth.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing haulier partners.
- Regularly review haulier and subcontractor performance.
- Bring new hauliers, subcontractors, and customers into the business.
- Allocate and resource daily loads, achieving the best possible margins.
- Schedule deliveries to ensure they meet customer expectations.
- Monitor delivery performance and promptly communicate any delays.
- Work to agreed targets and operational KPIs.
- Ensure all data is accurately maintained within the TMS system.
- Strong negotiation skills - able to secure the best rate from both customers and hauliers.
- Proven track record in a targeted environment, with evidence of hitting performance goals.
- Calm under pressure - capable of handling challenges and constraints effectively.
- Team player - reliable and responsible, contributing positively to those around you.
- Commercial awareness - good understanding of what drives business success.
- Knowledge of subcontracting - strong grasp of transport costs, compliance, and legislation.
In addition to salary progression, you will benefit from a structured bonus scheme worth up to £5,000 per annum, based on:
- Meeting and exceeding load count capacity.
- Achieving and surpassing an average weekly Gross Profit (GP) trigger of 15%.
Total potential earnings: up to £43,200 per annum.
