The Specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Service (T4 CAMHS) for North Wales provides assessment and therapeutic services for children and young people age 12-18 and their families and carers.

This post is an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Family & Systemic Psychotherapist to join the multi-disciplinary team for the T4 CAMHS inpatient service.

The post holder will work closely with the Consultant Nurse/ Systemic Family Psychotherapist and the North Wales Lead for Family & Systemic Psychotherapy. In addition support is available from other highly Specialist Family & Systemic Psychotherapists, across North Wales.

Applications are particularly welcome from individuals with additional training and experience in other evidence based therapeutic models. An expectation is that the post holder will bring experience of having worked across systems and other partner agencies.

All applicants will be committed to effective multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working and demonstrate the ability to work in collaboration with others. We are seeking candidates who are highly flexible and have a practical approach to working within a Child & Adolescent Inpatient Unit.

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, employment checks and an enhanced DBS.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

• A recognised post graduate Family Therapy or equivalent qualification at level of Masters or higher academic award.
• A professional qualification in a relevant regulated profession eligible under the Mental Health Measure (Wales) 2010 e.g. nursing, social work, clinical psychology.
• UKCP registration as a family/systemic Psychotherapist.
• Highly developed knowledge of systemic theory and practice.
• Knowledge of research design and methodology as practised within the field of family therapy.
• Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to this client group i.e. children.
• Additional relevant academic and/or accredited therapeutic qualification.

• Substantial assessed experience of working as a registered family/systemic psychotherapist.
• Experience of implementing evidence based family interventions.
• Substantial assessed experience in relevant regulated profession e.g. nursing, social work or clinical psychology.
• Experience of taking full clinical responsibility for clients' care, with experience of co-ordinating care within the context of multi-disciplinary care-planning.
• Experience of working directly with children and young people.
• Direct experience of Care Coordination under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
• Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.

• Highly developed skills in systemic practice.
• Ability to develop, manage and co-ordinate family therapy / systemic interviewing.
• Ability to develop, manage and co-ordinate training packages (staff and clients).
• Ability to develop, manage co-ordinate and provide consultation to other professionals.
• Ability to work within an evidence based framework.
• Ability to contain and work with organisational stress and ability to "hold" the stress of others.
• Ability to work with highly distressing clinical material and help others manage this.
• Ability to work in contexts of high complexity and ongoing change.
• Ability to speak Welsh.

• Flexible approach to work and the needs of a multidisciplinary service.
• Aware of and able to demonstrate the Values and Behaviour statements of the Health Board.

• Ability to carry out the full range of duties of the post.
• Ability to travel between designated sites within the area of work in a timely manner.
