Job summary

A prominent health organization in the Greater London area seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist for a full-time position within the Acute Inpatient team. This role focuses on providing leadership, supervision, and clinical support to enhance the quality of inpatient care for male adults requiring admission. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective patient treatment and management. Key qualifications include a medical degree and relevant clinical skills, fostering service development and management in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Medical degree, MBBS or equivalent.
  • Experience of operation of acute adult mental health service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant leadership, supervision, and support to the inpatient team.
  • Work with ward manager to deliver high quality inpatient treatment.
  • Develop close links with other Acute Wards and Community teams.

Skills

Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective
Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to contribute to service planning and management
Formal leadership/management training

Education

Medical degree, MBBS or equivalent
Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise
Section 12 Approval (Mental Health Act)
