Caerlaverock is a stunning nature reserve situated on the north Solway coast. We are looking for someone to join our team to help raise the profile of this special, wildlife-rich nature reserve, welcome more visitors, and improve their experience.
Wilder, wetter Caerlaverock is an innovative project funded by NatureScot through the Nature Restoration Fund that aims to restore wetland habitats across the reserve. The project involves raising water levels to create suitable conditions for rare species such as natterjack toads, restoring wetland habitats to former farmland, and assessing potential saltmarsh restoration. Infrastructure such as fencing, water troughs, and cattle handling pens are being installed to enable effective wildlife management in the future. We are seeking a dynamic individual to deliver project works across this striking nature reserve, making a positive impact for the future.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on landscape-scale habitat restoration projects and practical habitat management. This role suits an organized, innovative person with a passion for improving landscapes for wildlife. Previous experience in delivering high-quality habitat management projects with monitoring is essential. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with colleagues, volunteers, neighbours, graziers, and contractors.
If you enjoy working in a small team within stunning, wildlife-rich surroundings, we would love to hear from you. Click apply to submit your application.
