Job description
Overview

We are seeking to appoint four inspirational and committed practitioners to join our Outreach Student and Family Engagement (SAFE) Team as part of an exciting pilot outreach programme working with partner primary schools across Key Stages 1 and 2. The location and operational area for the roles will be allocated and based within the four Surrey quadrants.

This pilot project is designed to strengthen early intervention and inclusive practice, supporting children with emerging Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), behavioural, and pastoral needs. The role will contribute to reducing barriers to learning, improving engagement, and preventing escalation to more intensive provision and risk of permanent exclusion.

This role is for 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday, term time only, on a 1 year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their potential. They will have experience of mentoring young people, a good all-round knowledge of supporting the education of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, excellent organisational skills, and a good sense of humour. A car and appropriate insurance are essential for this role

Qualifications
  • Passionate about inclusion supporting all students to gain an inspirational education both academically and pastorally.
  • An outstanding practitioner with high expectations of pupils’ achievement and behaviour who is committed to providing high quality pastoral support.
  • Able to maintain and drive forward outstanding standards whilst meeting the needs of a very vulnerable group of students.
  • An excellent communicator who is able to work inclusively with students, staff, parents and external professionals.
Benefits
  • Fabulous children and young people
  • A chrome book
  • A friendly, committed and collaborative staff team
  • A generous salary package and benefits
  • Trust-wide training and development opportunities
  • A genuine commitment to staff wellbeing and workload

If you have successful experience, a strong commitment to inclusive values, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to strengthen partnerships, are ambitious to make a difference to the lives of young people and play a significant role in our exciting journey we would like to hear from you.

Please refer to the attached job profile for details of the role purpose, accountabilities and personal characteristics.

If you would like further information, please contact the Director of Education – details can be found on the application page.

Closing Information

Closing date for applications is Wednesday 28 January 2026 at 9am.
