Barnsley Vets for Pets Hospital is an outstanding Small Animal Hospital and Emergency Services Clinic, providing comprehensive 24/7 care with a dedicated on-site team. Established in 2002, our facility has evolved into a centre of excellence, equipped with advanced medical technologies, including a CT scanner, rigid and flexible endoscopes, and ultrasound machines. We offer a broad spectrum of services such as neurosurgery, orthopaedics, minimally invasive surgery, stem cell therapy, chemotherapy, alongside our first-opinion practice. Our team comprises 14 Veterinary Surgeons (including our own out-of-hours team), 24 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), 3 Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs), 5 Animal Care Assistants (ACAs) and a proficient non-clinical support team. We are united by a passion for delivering the highest standards of care, managing both general and referral cases within the same hospital to ensure seamless, end-to-end patient care.

By joining us you will have the opportunity to use your nursing skills to their full potential, admitting patients, monitoring anaesthetics, recovering, and discharging patients. Assistance with advanced neurology cases, CT’s and surgical assist with endoscopy surgeries. Assistance from ACAs, dedicated pharmacy team and a SVNs with turning around theatre, patient prep, for surgeries and discharges.

To apply you will have good general nursing experience and great customer service skills, be cheerful, down-to-earth and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in animal welfare. Whether you’re a newly qualified or experienced nurse looking for a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a Full role working 42 hours per week, including some weekend shifts on a rota basis.
