Job summary
A healthcare recruitment agency is seeking a skilled Practice Nurse for a busy GP surgery in Aylesbury. The role involves covering treatment for chronic diseases, including asthma and COPD, and other clinical duties. Candidates must have NMC registration, relevant qualifications, and experience within a UK GP surgery. This position is part-time for the months of April and May, offering a competitive schedule.
Qualifications
- Must have NMC registration and a valid pin.
- Experience in asthma and COPD management is essential.
- At least one year of experience in a UK GP surgery.
Responsibilities
- Covering treatment room duties including cervical cytology and immunisations.
- Providing care for patients with chronic diseases.
- Using Emis Web and managing smartcard access.
Skills
Education
Dream Medical is working with a fast-paced GP surgery in Aylesbury and requires a Practice Nurse to cover 4 days per week throughout April and May.
The clinical system used is Emis web, and applicants will ideally be proficient users with a smart card. The session times are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 09:00 to 17:00.
We are looking for an Asthma and COPD Specialist Nurse; therefore, a qualification and experience in these chronic diseases are essential. You will also cover other treatment room duties, such as:
- Cervical Cytology
- Baby immunisations
- Travel health
- Wounds and dressings
- Venepuncture and spirometry
Requirements include:
- NMC Registration and Pin
- Asthma and COPD qualification/experience
- 1 year's experience within a UK GP surgery
- Emis Web user
- Smartcard
