Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (approx.)
Austin Dean Recruitment is seeking an experienced, prison-cleared Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) to join the Drug & Alcohol Recovery Team (DART Service) within a prison in Stockton-on-Tees.
This is a rewarding opportunity in a challenging environment, where you will play a vital role in supporting patients undergoing withdrawal from substance misuse and alcohol dependency.
- Carry out assessments for patients presenting with withdrawal from alcohol or opioids.
- Apply recognised clinical assessment tools:
- CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol)
- COWS (Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale)
- Support the multidisciplinary team in the safe management of withdrawal symptoms.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centred care in line with prison healthcare standards.
- Current prison clearance and proven experience in a secure environment.
- Previous experience within substance misuse services.
- Working knowledge and practical application of CIWA and COWS assessment tools.
- Strong assessment, observation, and communication skills.
