The role of the Senior Clinical Author involves leading a small team who research, write, edit, and review medical information, including ongoing clinical education, internal team updates, and patient education materials for the purposes of the claimant, the Health Professionals (HP) in line with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS).
Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) is responsible for delivering assessments for Personal Independence Payments (PIP), Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Universal Credit (UC) as well as some Specialist Benefits (SB) for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The Senior Clinical Author is responsible for the creation and maintenance of all clinical collateral within Serco HAAS Contract.

The main responsibilities of a senior clinical author include:
Background
A strong background in medical writing, along with knowledge of medical terminology, research methodologies, and regulatory guidelines. Previous experience working as a Clinical Author in a relevant field would be an advantage. This may include experience working in the disability assessment, pharmaceutical industry, healthcare communications, or medical publishing. The role requires:
