We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator for Commercial and Industrial HVAC/R & Plumbing projects.
The Project Development Coordinator will be responsible for preparing comprehensive mechanical service estimates for assigned projects, either independently or in collaboration with team members.
Essential job functions include:
- Reviewing and incorporating historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity reports, etc., into unit and man-hour estimates.
- Reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and estimate requirements.
- Preparing estimates by calculating complete takeoffs of the scope of work.
- Coordinating the overall estimating effort for specific bids or projects.
- Following up on awarded contracts, including estimating/pricing extra work, change orders, credits, and procuring materials.
Qualifications:
- Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Working knowledge of CAD; Revit experience is a plus but not required.
- At least 2 years of estimating, cost control, or engineering experience in similar facility construction.
- Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems; Mast License is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic computer programs; estimating software knowledge is desirable.
- Willingness to undergo ongoing training in advanced estimating disciplines.
