HGV Technician

Gi Group are recruiting a HGV Technician for one of our local authority clients in the centre of Nottingham. You will be part of a team working to support the environment services fleet of HGVs.

Core Duties
  • Prepare, present and accompany all HGV vehicles for annual MOT inspections
  • Carry out periodic safety inspections to all HGV vehicles to VOSA inspection manual standards
  • Conduct diagnostic tests on complex hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems on vehicles within the mixed fleet
Skills and Qualifications Required
  • Qualification: You must have a City & Guilds Level 3 Qualification in Heavy Motor Vehicle Engineering (or equivalent which covers the MOT inspection standards)
  • Physical Fitness: Tasks may require physical exertion, so a good level of fitness is needed
  • Equipment operation: Tasks may require the use of hand tools, power tools and other equipment
  • Teamwork: You will work both independently and as part of a team
