Pertemps are proud to be recruiting for a leading manufacturer and distributor of premium protection products. With decades of success and industry recognition, they are now seeking a Machine & Factory Operative to join their established production team in Exeter.
If you’re hands‑on, practical, and take pride in producing high‑quality work, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
As a Machine & Factory Operative, you’ll be an integral part of the production process, ensuring products are manufactured, processed, and dispatched to the highest standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Operating manufacturing machinery.
- Preparing pallets for dispatch and processing orders.
- Picking and packing orders from order sheets.
- Loading / unloading stock from vehicles.
- Stock control – including rotation, goods‑in, dispatch, and stock checks.
- Following production processes and quality control procedures.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised warehouse environment.
- Supporting with general duties such as assembly and cleaning.
We’re looking for someone with a proactive approach and strong attention to detail. You’ll need to bring:
- Previous experience (minimum 2 years) in a manufacturing / production role.
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
- Reach forklift or scissor lift licence (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent accuracy, organisational and time management skills.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
- The ability to work on your feet for long periods and carry out manual handling tasks.
- Flexibility to work under pressure and meet targets.
- An interest in mechanical engineering (advantageous, but not essential).
- Competitive starting pay : £12.25 – £14.00 per hour (skills & experience dependent).
- Pay increases following successful probation and training.
- Consistent full-time hours : Monday – Friday, 08 : 00 – 17 : 00.
