Pay Rate : £12.25 - £14.00 DOE

Hours : Mon – Fri, 08 : 00 – 17 : 00

Pertemps are proud to be recruiting for a leading manufacturer and distributor of premium protection products. With decades of success and industry recognition, they are now seeking a Machine & Factory Operative to join their established production team in Exeter.

The Role

As a Machine & Factory Operative, you’ll be an integral part of the production process, ensuring products are manufactured, processed, and dispatched to the highest standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Operating manufacturing machinery.
• Preparing pallets for dispatch and processing orders.
• Picking and packing orders from order sheets.
• Loading / unloading stock from vehicles.
• Stock control – including rotation, goods‑in, dispatch, and stock checks.
• Following production processes and quality control procedures.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised warehouse environment.
• Supporting with general duties such as assembly and cleaning.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a proactive approach and strong attention to detail. You’ll need to bring:

• Previous experience (minimum 2 years) in a manufacturing / production role.
• A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
• Reach forklift or scissor lift licence (preferred but not essential).
• Excellent accuracy, organisational and time management skills.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
• The ability to work on your feet for long periods and carry out manual handling tasks.
• Flexibility to work under pressure and meet targets.
• An interest in mechanical engineering (advantageous, but not essential).
