A government health agency seeks an Ophthalmology Technician in Salisbury, UK. Ophthalmology Technicians in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) support Ophthalmologists in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, follow-up care & patient counseling. Full Performance level performs standard, but complex, diagnostic procedures, assists during clinic-based procedures, educates patients & legal representatives, assists in the education of medical students & residents. Full Performance Level may perform many direct patient care services under the supervision of Ophthalmologists.
Incumbent would be asked to work from any of our 3 locations (Salisbury Medical Center, Kernersville HCC, and Charlotte HCC), as the need arises. This Health Technician (Ophthalmology) at this level performs a range of standard, but complex, diagnostic procedures with responsibility for checking calibration of instruments prior to the procedure. Duties include, but not limited to:
