Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to join a nationally recognised business in the equipment rental sector and leading specialists across Safety, Survey, Communications and Test and Measurement. The successful candidate will maximise revenues and profitability via a strategic and focused approach across National Key Accounts whilst working closely with the Management Team, Regional Account Managers and other functions within ESS to ensure opportunities are identified and maximised across the full ESS product and service range, including building and managing a Pipeline of new customer contract opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the wider team to manage existing National Key Accounts, identify new opportunities and achieve budgeted turnover and profit targets.
  • Ensure current and New Contract & Agreements with National Key Accounts are formalised, monitored and renewed.
  • Agree with the management team and ensure detailed retention plans are in place for accounts up for renewal.
  • Work with the sales management team to help maximise revenue opportunities.
  • Support ESS in negotiations with Key accounts.
  • Support and enable the preparation and submission of tenders and national trading agreements.
  • Develop alongside the Sales Director presentation material to promote ESS products and services to existing and potential customers.
  • Manage and develop relationships with key decision makers and influencers within identified key accounts.
  • Promote other Vp products and services as and when appropriate.
  • Visit customers' sites and arrange product demonstrations.
  • Develop revenue from locations and sites where spend is currently at a low level.
  • Build effective relationships with Internal Teams.
  • Ensure all Customer Activity is logged correctly within the CRM system.
  • Develop full understanding of individual products and legislation as required.
  • Work with the business to ensure compliance with HSE legislation and ensure as far as is reasonably practicable, personal health & safety.

  • Highly motivated with strong commercial skills.

  • Can demonstrate good commercial acumen.
  • Desire to work in a customer facing role.
  • Ability to engage with all internal stakeholders.
  • Able to work away from home as and when required in order to meet site visit requirements across the UK.
  • Negotiation skills at all levels; presentation skills, influencing techniques, overcoming objections, communication skills at all levels.
Desirable criteria
  • Team Management experience.
  • Clear understanding of our market and be able to evidence such knowledge.
  • Experience of liaison with / exposure to senior management.
  • Evidence of key account management experience.
  • Has previously worked with National Accounts.
  • Experience in the Rental Market; Survey and Safety market product knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Confined Space and the Working at Height marketplaces.
