I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a reputable global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization (CRO) known for its strong culture and excellent proposition. This is an exciting, newly created role within a high-performance global team. The CRO has a solid reputation with stable clients and a proven track record of year-on-year growth. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and industry-leading clinical experts, joining an organization with a collaborative culture.

This role is an individual sales contributor position, working remotely from home, focusing on the UK and Western European markets. You will be responsible for securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotechnology, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success in this role requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in the region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Achieving sales and business development targets.
• Developing and implementing business strategies for target markets.
• Prospecting to build a pipeline of opportunities and RFPs from potential clients, qualifying leads for competitive advantage.
• Using Salesforce to track client activities and update opportunities.
• Leading the sales process for generated and received leads.
• Managing proposal development to meet client expectations regarding strategy, budget, and timelines.
• Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence.
• Providing marketing input to support business development.
• Contributing to sales targets and strategies based on industry knowledge.
• Supporting pre-sales activities and resource allocation.
• Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions.
• Collaborating with research staff to maximize selling opportunities.
• Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business opportunities.
