Senior Front End Software Engineer (React)

Salary: up to £85,000

Location: Fully remote (UK, EU, or North America time zones)

We're hiring a Senior Front End Software Engineer to join a fast‑growing startup in the sustainability and renewables space.

The business is in an accelerated build phase, scaling both its customer‑facing and internal platforms. This role will play a key part in shaping the web and mobile experiences that sit on top of a growing data and intelligence platform.

You'll work closely with product, design, and Back End engineering to build high‑quality, scalable Front End systems, with real influence over architecture, UX, and technical direction.

The role

• Build and maintain performant web applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, TailwindCSS and shadcn
• Develop reusable components and Front End architecture to support a growing product ecosystem
• Lead implementation of the design system and UX layer in partnership with design
• Collaborate closely with Back End and full‑stack engineers to integrate with platform services
• Contribute to and support a React Native mobile application as part of a unified Front End team
• Balance rapid MVP delivery with scalable, maintainable engineering practices

About you

• 5+ years' professional experience in Front End engineering
• Strong experience with React and TypeScript in production environments
• Hands‑on experience with React, Next.js, TailwindCSS and component‑based architectures
• Solid understanding of state management, responsive design, and performance optimisation
• Exposure to data visualisation tools such as D3.js, Recharts, or Mapbox
• Comfortable working in a remote, distributed team with a high degree of autonomy

Nice to have

• Experience with React Native and cross‑platform design systems
• Familiarity with Supabase or similar Back End‑as‑a‑service platforms
• Background building data‑heavy or analytics‑focused interfaces
