Job summary
A leading actuarial consultancy in the UK is seeking a Pensions Actuary to work on various pension projects remotely. The successful candidate will engage in data validation, benefit calculations, and teamwork while pursuing full actuarial qualification with comprehensive study support. Ideal candidates are experienced in pensions, and Excel, and have a flexible approach to work.
Qualifications
- Working towards becoming a qualified actuary or starting actuarial exams.
- Experience in a pensions actuarial team preferably with GMP.
- Excel skills in vlookups and macros.
Responsibilities
- Conduct data validation/audits and improvement projects.
- Handle benefits and data due diligence.
- Create benefit calculation proforma for administration teams.

As part of your role, you will be working on a wide range of DB pensions projects for DB pensions clients and bulk annuity providers.
- Data validation/audits and improvement/creation projects
- Benefits and data due diligence
- Benefit calculation proforma for administration teams to use on smaller clients
- Calculations testing (both doing calculations to test against automated results and using pensions knowledge to identify errors in/improve automated calculations)
- Benefit summary specification creation or review
- Member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and working towards becoming a qualified actuary or wanting to start the actuarial exams (with full study support available)
- Currently working in a pensions actuarial team ideally with GMP experience
- Excel skills – vlookups and macros
- Good team player, with excellent attitude and flexible approach to work
- Experience in using PFaroe actuarial software (preferable)
