About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Communications Lead to own the next phase of our strategy and growth for how we elevate Webflow’s story and bring it to market – including our company narrative, thought leadership, product, and customer stories. This highly strategic role will shape and deliver the company’s external communications, manage media relations, crisis communications, and brand reputation as we scale globally. You will partner with executives, product marketing, social, and brand marketing teams to develop communication strategies that support key brand moments and product launches, driving share of voice across key media partners and publications, and amplifying Webflow’s narrative.

- Reporting to the Director of Communications
As a Communications Lead, you’ll:
- Partner with Webflow executives, customers, investors, and other leaders to develop key narratives and secure leadership buy-in on communications strategy, activating it across earned and owned media channels.
- Oversee external communications strategy, including media plans, press opportunities, and alignment with internal comms, social, and employer brand for consistent messaging.
- Own executive voice strategy by partnering with the C-suite on press opportunities, speeches, op-eds, and thought leadership.
- Lead external press relations by managing PR agencies to deliver measurable results, while coordinating with internal teams to amplify Webflow’s story.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key business and tech media to position Webflow as the leading Website Experience Platform (WXP).
- Advise the executive team on communications strategy and thought leadership opportunities, preparing them for media interviews and public engagements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and other teams to amplify major campaigns and company milestones.
We will support you in identifying development opportunities and help you incorporate them into your role.
About you
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in communications, PR, and/or brand leadership roles, with a track record at high-growth or enterprise technology companies.
- Deep understanding of the technology industry with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives.
- Proven success managing PR agencies to deliver measurable results in media coverage, share of voice, and reputation.
You’ll thrive as a Communications Lead if you have:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in executive voice and thought leadership.
- Strong media relations and established relationships with key business and tech journalists.
- Experience building and executing crisis communications plans and advising executives in high-pressure moments.
- Ability to measure impact and use data to guide strategy.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative approach to partner with internal teams to drive consistent storytelling across channels.
- Curiosity and confidence in navigating AI-driven narratives and explaining how AI affects discovery, workflows, and brand presence for executives, customers, and media.
