Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for a Head of Finance to join our team based in Oswestry. Join us at Hope House Children’s Hospices by playing a vital role in achieving ‘Our Mission’: Helping every child with a life‑threatening condition live their best life.

This is a full time permanent role with the option of some hybrid working to have a real work life balance.

We offer a competitive salary range of £60,772 – £67,081 (FTE) per annum plus car allowance and benefits.

The Head of Finance will be operationally responsible for the financial processes and governance of the charity and provide timely and relevant insight and analysis to influence decision making and performance.

• Manage the Finance team and lead all accounting activities in accordance with the Charity Commission’s Standards of Recommended Practice (SORP).
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including HMRC, the Charity Commission and the Gambling Commission.
• Work closely with the Chief Executive and Director of Finance & Transformation to propose the financial strategy and budgets for the organisation to the Board of Trustees.
• Act as the principal liaison with the appointed auditors.

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
• Depth of relevant financial management experience.
• Strong leadership skills and a willingness to work as part of a team to deliver the charity’s vision.
• Strategic thinker able to clearly interpret and present complex information to different audiences.
• Extensive familiarity with financial systems and expert in using Microsoft Excel.
